1. CHOOSE THE RIGHT TIME Best time: To Malaysia (MY)
To Singapore (SG)
FYI: Customs peak hour MY -> SG Mon-Fri: 05:00-11:00 Sat & Sun: Usually in the morning Weekday crowd after 10:00 usually are tour groups Congestion on the bridge to SG after 10:00, usually cause by cars and heavy vehicles SG->MY Mon-Thur: 18:00- NOT SURE (My estimation is around 22:00. The crowd will not be as bad as Friday night) Fri: 18:00- Late night (Very crowded) Sat & Sun: Morning to Afternoon (usually less crowd or no crowd on Sunday) Note: Crowd will also be affected during School Holiday and Public Holiday, where there will be more people traveling It is difficult to estimate when there will be a crowd. Especially when the crowd is increasing each year. Sometimes the customs will be surprisingly empty on a weekend. Sometimes both customs may be empty, but the queue for the public buses are very long. Sometimes one of the customs may be crowded, while the other is empty. So it really depend on situation and your luck ;) 2. Avoid Crossing Boarders On Holiday Check whether the holiday fall on Thursday or Monday. If the holiday fall on Thursday, the crowd will move from Friday to Thursday Hence Friday will be less crowded (the crowd situation will be similar to weekend) Holiday on Thursday SG -> MY custom: Thur: Very crowd Fri: Weekend crowd Sat: Weekend crowd or no crowd Sun: No crowd MY -> SG custom Sun: No crowd/ Possible of crowd in the late afternoon Holiday on Monday SG ->MY custom Fri: Very crowded Sat: Weekend crowd Sun: Weekend crowd/ No crowd Mon: No crowd MY -> SG Sun: No crowd Mon: No crowd/ Possible of crowd in the late afternoon PS: This information is given by someone who has been traveling between customs for the past 20years As at Year2017, the human traffic between SG and MY customs are accelerating every year hence the crowd will increase yearly |
